The looks and style you crave along with performance and refinement you only get from a Star Motorcycle.

The all new 2011 Yamaha Stryker, a machine designed to be ridden... and admired. Chopper inspired styling, attention to detail and mechanical function blend together in a stunning new mid class "chopper". One ride and you will know we got it right. The style, the performance and that special attitude is intoxicating.

Strykes fear into everything else.

The all new 2011 Stryker by Star Motorcycles is the coolest bike to roll off the assembly line since the Yamaha Raider took the industry by storm. With its raked out front end and "fists in the wind" riding position, this bike is pure attitude. And with fuel injection, a 1304cc V-Twin, and a beautiful final belt drive, the 2011 Yamaha Stryker churns out plenty of low-end torque that gets to the ground in a very satisfying way. It's time for an attitude adjustment!

Powered by a liquid-cooled, 1304cc V-twin powerplant, the new Stryker offers an unparalleled riding experience.

The looks are guaranteed to turn heads while the engine performance and sound will keep you grinning all day. But there is more. It is hard to put into words but one ride and you will discover its unique "bad boy" attitude.
2011 Yamaha Stryker model Features
• 1304cc fuel injected V-Twin
• Chopper inspired styling and attitude

ENGINE
• 1304cc (80 cubic inch), liquid-cooled, short stroke, SOHC, 4-valve per cylinder, fuel injected, 60° V-twin powerplant pumps out impressive power and torque for excellent cruising performance.
• Uneven firing interval, bore & stroke dimensions and special ignition & injection mapping all contribute to excellent torque output and that classic V-twin pulse feeling
• Liquid-cooling not only allows for higher state of tune because it maintains more stable operating temperatures, but also reduces mechanical noise for a quieter engine.
• In an effort to maintain the classic air-cooled appearance of the engine, cooling fins have been added as a styling highlight.
• The short stroke engine design reduces the "height" of the engine, while the 60 degree "V" makes the engine more compact thereby centralizing mass and lowering the center of gravity for lighter, more responsive handling.
• One-piece cylinder heads feature 4-valves per cylinder to provide optimum breathing efficiency for maximum power output.
• Stylish chromed cylinder head covers.
• The SOHC valve train features 36mm intake and 32mm exhaust valves with special single coil springs for great power and torque. Valves angles are set at 20 degrees from centre.
• Specially designed roller rockers activate the valves. The rocker system allows a greater amount of valve lift without causing excessive camshaft wear and friction. The slipper portion of the rocker arm features a needle bearing which reduces wear and slide resistance (friction). The camshafts have been specially designed for use with roller rockers.
• Pent roof combustion chamber design and optimized squish area forces the fuel / air mixture toward the centre of the combustion chamber for more complete combustion and hence improved power and cleaner emissions.
• The radiator is mounted between the front frame down tubes to minimize its appearance especially when viewing the machine from the side. Even the rad hoses have been discreetly placed for a cleaner appearance. An electric fan aids in cooling during very hot weather or in stop and go traffic.
• Automatic hydraulic cam chain tensioners reduce mechanical noise and simplify maintenance too.
• Ceramic composite-plated cylinders provide uniform heat dissipation while also reducing friction and weight. The cylinders have a tapered "V" appearance to highlight the V-twin design. Cylinder bore is 100mm.
• High performance forged pistons offer great durability and reduced weight for faster engine response and less mechanical vibration.
• Crankshaft features a single crank pin design. This specially designed crank and uneven firing order helps to enhance the pulse feeling and that unique V-twin engine character.
• Single axis, left and right dual engine counter balancers reduce vibration to a minimum while maximizing rider comfort.
• Crankcase design features internal oil and coolant lines for a clean, air-cooled engine appearance. There are special piston coolers that spray oil at the under side of the pistons.
• Easy access, spin on type oil filter is located under the engine. There is no need to remove any parts to access the oil filter.
• Classic side mounted air box houses a high-flow viscous paper-type filter and adds that special styling touch too.
• Mikuni dual bore, 40mm throttle body fuel injection system with TPS (Throttle Position Sensor) and ISC (Idle Speed Control). This is a "closed loop" system that utilizes an oxygen sensor in the exhaust. The sensor "sniffs" the spent exhaust gases and feeds back info to the ECU which in turn adjusts the fuel/air mixture for maximum power with minimum emissions. The oxygen sensor is located before the mufflers, so the use of slip-on mufflers will not affect this system. Each injector features 12 holes and a dual spray pattern for better fuel atomization and more complete combustion chamber filling. There is one injector per cylinder. Fuel injection benefits include improved fuel economy; choke less operation, reduced emissions, and smoother running.
• High pressure fuel pump is located in a separate sub tank below the seat.
• 2 into 1 into 2 exhaust system features dual slash cut mufflers which provide a specially developed exhaust note that accentuates the V-Twin rumble. The engineers call it the "sound of acceleration".
• A 3-way honeycomb catalyzer is located at the entry point to the mufflers. The catalyzer reduces harmful exhaust emissions.
• Smooth-shifting, 5-speed transmission with 5th gear overdrive delivers outstanding cruising performance and reduced rpms at highway speeds for comfortable cruising.
• Clean, quiet belt drive system is extremely low maintenance and simplifies customization. The belt features carbon cords for extra strength.
• Air Induction System (A.I.S.) reduces harmful exhaust emissions (CO + HC).

CHASSIS/SUSPENSION
• Double cradle steel frame with "open neck space" provides an aggressive chopper image. This frame utilizes a rigid engine mounting system to optimize the overall rigidity balance of the chassis for superior handling. The rake is 34 degrees with a yoke offset * of 6 degrees. The frame not provides excellent handling and roomy ergonomics but also compliments the beautiful flowing lines of the entire machine.
Important Note: Raked out front fork with lots of trail generally provides good straight line stability but often results in heavy steering at low speeds. The engineers at Yamaha will not sacrifice handling for styling, so they have developed a 6 degree yoke offset angle combined with a 34 degree steering head for a total fork angle of 40 degrees. The "Stryker" provides light "athletic handling and easy steering" not normally associated with a custom styled bike. This bike was designed to be ridden ! Key numbers: 6 degree yoke offset angle, 34 degree caster angle, 109mm of trail.
• Steel swingarm compliments the frame and the overall chassis rigidity balance
• Long 1,750mm (68.9") wheelbase creates a long, low profile and solid, stable handling. This chassis offers a 45% & 55% front to rear weight distribution and is approximately 60mm longer than the standard V-Star 1300.
• The long low design means spacious ergonomics with lots of leg room, which maximizes rider and passenger comfort.
• Raked out 41mm front fork offers excellent ride comfort and compliance. Chip protectors help to prevent stone chips in the tubes. Front wheel travel is 135mm (5.3").
• Monocross style, spring preload-adjustable, single-shock, link rear suspension centralizes mass for agile handling. The linkage system provides a rising rate effect that provides excellent compliance on both small and large bumps. There are 9 positions of spring preload adjustability to suit rider preference.
• Rear shock is vertically mounted behind the engine and is tucked out of sight for that classic, clean, hard tail look. Rear wheel travel is 100mm (3.9").
• Single, large 320mm, floating front disc is squeezed by a compact twin piston front caliper.
• 310mm rear disc brake is squeezed by single piston caliper mounted to the underside of the swingarm. This design not only helps to hide the caliper but also lowers the center of gravity for better handling.
• Newly designed, lightweight 5-spoke cast aluminium wheels are fitted tubeless tires. These stylish wheels are both easy to clean and maintenance-free. The front wheel is a MT3.50 x 21 inch while the rear is a wide MT7.50x18. The narrow front tire (120/70 x 21) and wide rear tire (240/40R18) enhance the chopper styling image.
• Newly designed 1 inch handlebars are mounted directly to the upper handlebar crown without the use of traditional handlebar holders. This design accentuations the chopper profile while also providing an aggressive riding position.
• Newly design deep-bend front and rear fenders enhance the chopper styling. Steel material allows for easy customization and painting if desired.
• 15 litre teardrop shaped fuel tank with chromed filler cap. The long, slim tank design accentuates the bikes muscular styling lines.
• Newly designed one piece rider and passenger seat offers a low 670mm (26.4") seat height and great styling too. Seating position is best described as sitting "in" not "on" providing a very special "riding attitude".
• Chromed handlebar-mounted instrument features an analog speedometer, digital odometer, dual tripmeters, fuel gauge, fuel reserve tripmeter (counts kilometres since the fuel went on reserve), clock, and a range of warning lights and self diagnostic functions.
• Instrument functions can be "tabbed" through and re-set using the RHS handlebar switch gear, allowing the operator to change instrument meter functions without taking hands off the bars.
• Newly designed, compact 60/55 watt high intensity halogen headlight emphasizes the "chopper" image.
• Eye catching LED tail light is not only very visible but also uses less electrical power than a conventional bulb style taillight.

ADDITIONAL FEATURES
• Industry-leading Star family fit and finish features rich, lustrous paint and extensive chrome accents creating a machine as stunning as it is powerful.
• Extra wide front brake and clutch levers provide a quality feel.
• Steering lock is integrated into the main ignition switch for extra convenience.
• Low-maintenance, sealed battery ensures fuss-free, dependable starting.
• Self-cancelling turn signals feature stylish clear lenses.

Need a Florida Motorcycle Accident Lawyer and looking for an ethical, experienced and aggressive lawyer to figure out if you may be entitled to money compensation for your serious injury?

In Florida, motorcycle accidents happen mostly because automobile drivers do not share the road. I frequently represent seriously injured motorcycle riders because a car fails to see the motorcycle and then the car pulls out into the intersection. Another common reason is that the car driver changes lanes without looking. The most frequent injuries are fractures of shoulder or wrists from going over the handlebars, or femur (long bone of the leg) fractures from laying the bike down or a side impact. Unfortunately, even at slower speeds and with a helmet, I have represented the family of fathers and sons who have died in motorcycle crashes.

As a Florida Motorcycle accident lawyer, I understand that you may want to express you individuality and freedom on the road by making the decision as an adult not to wear a helmet. The insurance company in a brain injury case will argue that you are the cause of your own injury being worse because if you were wearing a helmet the injury would not have been so bad.

I retain experts in biomechanics, who are engineers and if the evidence is available and in your favor, they can calculate the force of the impact and tell the insurance company that they are wrong. That wearing a helmet would not have made a difference. A helmet sometimes can actually make the injury worse. I am not advocating that you should not wear a helmet , it's just that wearing one does not always make a difference. It depends on the accident circumstances. Each Florida Motorcycle Accident claim will get my personal attention to detail and my 30 years of experience.

If you would like to consult for free with a Florida civil trial lawyer who is board certified as an expert in civil trial then please call 888-446-1999

There will be no charge for lawyer fees of representation or costs of representation if there is not money compensation recovery.

2010 APRILIA RSV4 Factory APRC Special Edition

Click Thumbnail to download (size 1600 x 1200 pixels)

APRC, short for: Aprilia Performance Ride Control. The APRC was developed using data from this year’s Superbike Championship. While it’s the BMW S1000RR that came out on top in most litre-class superbike shootouts conducted by dozens of magazines and websites worldwide, on the racetrack, it’s the Aprilia RSV4 that has won the battle. The Italian brand celebrates with the RSV4 Factory APRC Special Edition, which is equipped with a new electronic management system that includes traction control, wheelie control, launch control and quick shift.

The APRC package uses an automotive inertial platform with two turn meters and two accelerometers that enable the ECU to track dynamic conditions and adjust engine control consequently. The rider can adjust any component of the APRC system independently at will. The list of the electronic system is quite long: ATC (Aprilia Traction Control), AWC (Aprilia Wheelie Control), ALC (Aprilia Launch Control) and AQS (Aprilia Quick Shift).

The ATC is one of the greatest strengths of the APRC package. This is a fully innovative traction control system developed from an Aprilia patent, mainly focussed on helping the rider improve his lap times. Thanks to the inertial platform and the Ride By Wire, the ATC not only reduces torque when the rear wheel slips but lets the rider control tail sliding when exiting a bend, giving him a better feel for throttle control, depending on lean angle. Aprilia ATC is quickly, easily activated from the instrument panel menu and offers & settings. When the ATC is enabled, the rider can change setting in an instant at any time using a joystick on the left handlebar to suit track, pavement or tyre conditions, without closing the throttle and keeping his hands on the handlebar, as in professional motorcycle racing. This way, the system can adjust to every single bend of any track so as to meet the specific requirements of any rider, including the most expert ones. The other incredible achievement of Aprilia technology is the system’s “learning capacity”. Current traction control systems are designed and optimised for a single size and type of tyre. This limit frequently cancels the benefits of traction control. Aprilia Traction Control has overcome this limit: a procedure activated by the rider enables the system to learn the tyre radius and final ratio adopted on the bike to obtain fine-tuned traction control.

Exploiting the full power of modern superbikes down to the very last HP is every rider’s dream. Aprilia’s AWC has achieved extraordinary results. Thanks to the exclusive Aprilia patented Wheelie Detection System, the AWC is able to “tell” when a wheelie begins and ends and kicks in to smoothen wheel contact with the road. Smooth, soft wheelie management avoid harsh power cuts or pick-up, providing perfect acceleration control. Again, the AWC system is activated from the instrument panel and can be adjusted independently from other control systems choosing from three settings to better meet rider requirements.

The perfect start is yet another racer’s dream, because a good start frequently means you’re half way towards a victory. When the lights go out, handling the huge power of modern superbikes is no easy task. Unless the bike handles it itself to offer its best starting performance. The ALC (Aprilia Launch Control) system ensures an instant start as the lights go out, applying full power to the road to assist the rider in this critical moment of the race. All the rider needs to do is give full throttle and release the clutch as he normally would and shift gears. The ALC has three settings that can be selected from the instrument panel menu, then it must be “armed” at standstill, by squeezing both traction control buttons on the left handlebar joystick at the same time.

When you’re after the utmost lap performance, you can’t afford to waste even one thousandth of a second in an apparently simple operation like shifting. RSV4 Factory APRC SE is the first Aprilia bike that comes with the Aprilia Quick Shift as standard. Basically, the quick shift shortens spark advance for an instant and then gradually restores it, making for super-fast shifting with no need to close the throttle or use the clutch. The system works hand in hand with the new closer spaced gearbox to limit RPM drop during shifting for faster lap times. To optimise AQS performance, Aprilia engineers have fine-tuned power cut timing based on shifting RPM.

Key features of the RSV4 APRC SE:

• APRC fitted as standard
• Fuel system with variable length intake ducts
• Advanced exhaust butterfly valve management
• 3-point adjustable chassis
• Öhlins fully adjustable front fork
• Öhlins fully adjustable shock absorber
• Öhlins adjustable steering damper
• Wheel rims in forged aluminium
• Carbon parts
• Special Tricolour livery

Developed in close collaboration with Aprilia Racing (the department of Aprilia responsible for thirty-seven world titles), the Dorsoduro 750 combines the best technology from the worlds of supersports and racing supermotards. The result is a distillation of performance and technology, a special, extreme, and elite motorcycle that is capable of elevating its rider to motorcycling excellence.

The lightweight, agile, and powerful Dorsoduro 750 is driven by a new generation of engine incorporating the most advanced technical solutions found on any bike of its kind. Thanks to advanced electronic engine management, Aprilia's compact 90° V twin delivers superb performance, well beyond the reach of its rivals. Specific power is 122.6 HP/litre and maximum torque is 82 Nm at only 4,500 rpm.

As you would expect from Aprilia, the chassis is unique in the supermotard segment. Having achieved amazing results on the super-specialist SXV, Aprilia's mixed trellis and aluminium frame is now one of the most distinctive features of the Dorsoduro, giving it the sort of directional control, responsiveness and precision the competition cannot hope to achieve.
Despite its essential design, the Aprilia Dorsoduro boasts the highest level of components, technical equipment and finish. Four piston radial calipers, wave discs, a hydraulic wet clutch, adjustable front and rear suspension, Tri-Map ride-by-wire engine management and a Matrix instrument display with on-board computer are just some of the many items that make the Dorsoduro unique.

Let's look at the features of the Aprilia Dorsoduro 750 in greater detail:

= 90° V twin engine with four-valve heads, double overhead cam and liquid cooling;
= tri-Map second generation ride-by-wire technology;
= electronic fuel injection with the latest generation injectors;
= mixed gear and chain timing drive;
= modular steel trellis and aluminium alloy frame for extremely light weight and high torsional rigidity;
= aluminium alloy swingarm with laterally offset monoshock;
= fully adjustable 43 mm upside down fork;
= radial front brake calipers combined with 320 mm wave discs
= also available in a restricted 25 kW version
= latest generation Continental two channel ABS

DESIGN: CONCEIVED TO THRILL
The minimal and aggressive bodywork of the Aprilia Dorsoduro 750 adds the perfect finishing touches to the advanced motorcycle technology that forms the basis of its design. The Dorsoduro 750 is built around the rider. That is why, on this radical, daring and sporting machine everything contributes effectively to maximum riding pleasure. Plastic body panels have been reduced to a minimum for this very reason. As with top competition machines, anything that does not improve performance has been eliminated. Only the place for a number has been left to emphasis the bike's close ties with the world of racing.

The middle of the bike, the area most important to rider movement under competitive riding conditions, shows just how compact this design really is. The Aprilia Dorsoduro 750 is incredibly slender and agile and enters into instant symbiosis with its rider. Only a few metres on this amazing machine are enough to feel completely at one with it. Aprilia's design team have achieved this impressive result by giving the Dorsoduro a long, flat seat, derived directly from the world of racing, allowing the rider to find the most effective position at all times.

The sleek, compact tail houses a twinned exhaust, a solution that not only gives the bike a mean, aggressive look but also achieves perfect symmetry and ideal weight distribution. The hand guards are derived from those of the SXV supermotard and, despite their streamlined look, offer effective protection against accidental impacts with the control levers.

ENGINE: A STATE-OF-THE-ART TWIN
Numerous improvements have been made to the Aprilia 750 cc, 90° V twin engine, which now features mapping specially developed to bring out the Dorsoduro's aggressive character.
Improvements have been made to various areas of the 749.9 cc engine with its bore and stroke of 92 x 56.4 mm. As a result the electronic and mechanical content of this V twin engine sets new standards not only for engines of this size but for many far larger units too.

The electronic engine management on the Dorsoduro 750's engine leads the field in technology and performance. The Dorsoduro features a second generation electronic throttle with Tri-Map selectable triple mapping.

Three performance modes, Sport, Touring and Rain, can be selected from a switch on the handlebars (with the throttle closed for safety reasons). The Dorsoduro changes its character radically, depending on what mode you select. Sport mode gives you aggressive instant power; Touring mode gives you a smoother action, better suited to relaxed long distance riding; and Rain mode gives you ultimate safety slippery surfaces.

The Tri-Map electronic throttle also means smoother, more consistent power thanks to more accurate and precise throttle control based on parameters including engine speed, gear selection, air flow, throttle position and temperature.

Whatever mapping you select, the engine is always ready to deliver the best possible performance in terms of acceleration and rev range, giving you an amazingly satisfying and entertaining ride.

The exhaust is made entirely from stainless steel. The collector pipes meet in a single silencer under the seat before splitting again into two tail pipes. The large volume of the exhaust system also aids engine breathing and boosts efficiency.

Thanks to its advanced electronic and mechanical technology, the Aprilia V twin engine develops 92 HP at 8,750 rpm and a maximum torque of 82 Nm at 4,500 rpm. These figures enable the Dorsoduro to compete directly with motorcycles powered by far bigger engines.

The Aprilia Dorsoduro 750 is also available, right from its introduction, in a restricted 25 kW version. The use of a ride-by-wire electronic throttle has allowed Aprilia to avoid cutting power right across the range, as happens with less advanced restricted versions. Instead, the power curve of the restricted Dorsoduro is identical to that of its full-power sister right up to the point where the permitted power limit is reached. The 25 kW Dorsoduro 750 therefore delivers far superior acceleration to the equivalent models of the competition, to the benefit of riding satisfaction and pleasure.

FRAME: PERFECT BALANCE
Aprilia motorcycles have always been acclaimed for the excellent chassis designs. The Dorsoduro 750 is no exception, thanks to a chassis that makes it the best balanced and most effective bike of its type. The new Dorsoduro is easy and intuitive to ride despite its blistering performance. It is designed to be ridden at the limit under all conditions, to perform extreme power slides, and to blast out of bends under full power. The secret lies in an ultra-responsive chassis, whose ergonomics suit riders of all statures and allow you to "take it to the limit" and enjoy the thrills of a motorcycle built for pure entertainment.

The frame incorporates all of Aprilia's vast racing experience, and makes full use of the latest mixed steel and aluminium designs derived from the world of Supermotard World Championship racing. The top half of the frame is a tubular steel trellis. This is secured to generous aluminium side members by special high strength bolts. The resulting structure is extremely rigid and lightweight, and provides the best possible means of harnessing the exuberant power of the Aprilia V90 engine while still communicating a strong impression of lightness, high technology and Italian style.

Continuous co-operation between engine and frame designers has led to the perfection of high-tech, performance-oriented solutions and to total integration between engine and frame. The intelligent design solutions applied to Aprilia's V twin engine have made it shorter than ever, permitting the development of a rational and efficient frame and a superbly agile and incredibly responsive motorcycle.

The lateral position and acute angle of the rear monoshock has freed up the space needed to ensure optimum exhaust geometry without any increase in the bike's overall length, and without subjecting the monoshock to thermal stress. The aluminium swingarm is robust enough to withstand the asymmetric stresses generated by the lateral positioning of the rear suspension. The swingarm has been specially developed to satisfy the needs of a supermotard like the Dorsoduro 750, and combines excellent torsional rigidity with the elasticity needed for precision under acceleration and intuitive control under changing conditions.

SUSPENSION: EFFECTIVE ON ALL SURFACES
Optimum suspension setup has always been one of the strong points of the Aprilia design and testing team. The 43 mm upside down fork features shell-cast bottom outers with radial calipers mountings, and offers adjustments for spring preload and rebound damping. This sophisticated fork offers a superb sliding action and a wheel travel of 160 mm in line with the latest trends in supermotard racing. Both yokes are forged, and the top yoke is also anodised to match the Dorsoduro's high level of finish.

The laterally offset monoshock pivots directly on the swingarm in a cantilever configuration, and is also adjustable in spring preload and rebound damping. Rear wheel travel is 160 mm, again in keeping the requirements of a top level supermotard, on which effective, controlled long stroke suspension is a must.

BRAKES: RACING TECHNOLOGY
The Aprilia Dorsoduro 750 is equipped with the best braking technology currently available. The front brakes feature 4-piston radial calipers, state-of-the-art for the motard market. The lightweight, 320 mm wave discs ensure shorter than ever stopping distances. The bike's aggressive stopping power is emphasised by the mean look of the braking system, in keeping with the Dorsoduro's overall styling.

The rear brakes incorporate another wave disc, 240 mm in diameter this time, plus a single piston caliper. Both the front and rear brakes are fitted with aeronautical type metal braided brake lines to eliminate the sponginess associated with conventional rubber hoses and to deliver maximum braking precision.

A sophisticated two channel Continental ABS system provides maximum active safety on the Dorsoduro 750. The ABS controller is specially calibrated to make full use of the Dorsoduro's impressive braking power and tyre grip on dry surfaces. Riders can therefore still enjoy this amazing "fun bike" to the full.

COMPONENTS
Supermotards are always no-frills machines, and sometimes quite spartan. This, however, does not mean having to do without top quality components and attention to detail. Here too Aprilia stands apart from the competition by adopting a level of equipment worthy of a true market leader:

" Matrix instrumentation. The mixed analog/digital instrument cluster receives data over a CAN line and incorporates a memory that forms an integral part of the diagnostics system. The ultra-compact instruments feature a modern design and are extremely light in weight. All functions can be accessed and controlled from the handlebars. The LED backlighting is white in the analog area and red in the digital area, and can be adjusted to three levels of brightness;
" Dual taper anodised aluminium handlebars exactly like those fitted to Aprilia's racing supermotards. This super-lightweight component is specially designed for optimum dynamic control;
" Hydraulically operated clutch for a consistently precise action and exceptional smoothness. The clutch is also self-adjusting and completely maintenance free.
